With that pleasant thought in mind, I began to read.Ĭompton takes us from his very modest background in California where he was a child actor in the early movie days of Hollywood, on to college where he was a star athlete, then to his stint as a paratrooper and lieutenant in the famed "Band of Brothers", and finally through his time as a policeman, lawyer and judge. My first surprise was discovering that he lives only 30 minutes from me. I read this book last week and for the most part found it a good story of a man who has led a very interesting and diverse life.
